Description
Overview
The Remo Ambassador Ebony Series Drumhead is the professional industry standard for drummers seeking a sophisticated aesthetic combined with an open, resonant sound. Designed specifically to provide a reflective black finish, these heads offer a striking visual presence on stage or in the studio without sacrificing the tonal quality of the instrument.
Constructed from a single ply of 10-mil Ebony film, the Ambassador Ebony delivers a balanced response and a bright, open tone that allows the natural resonance of the drum shell to shine through.
Key Details
- Single-Ply Construction: Built with 1-ply of 10-mil Ebony film for a consistent, durable playing surface.
- Open Resonant Tone: Engineered to provide a wide dynamic range and an open sound profile.
- Reflective Black Finish: Features a high-gloss Ebony look that provides a professional, polished appearance.
- Versatile Application: Optimized for use as both batter and resonant heads across various drum types.
Use Cases
- Bass Drum Resonant Heads: The primary choice for bass drums to achieve a classic look while maintaining the necessary air movement and resonance.
- Tom-Tom Customization: Ideal for drummers wanting a blacked-out aesthetic on their toms while keeping the bright, open attack of a single-ply head.
- Studio Recording: Used in professional recording environments where a specific visual look is required without dampening the drum’s natural frequency.
Installation
Installation is straightforward and follows standard drumhead replacement procedures. Ensure the drum shell bearing edge is clean and free of debris. Place the Ebony head onto the shell, ensuring it is centered, and tighten the tension rods in a cross-pattern (star pattern) to ensure even pressure across the film. Tune to your preferred pitch using a drum key, taking care not to over-tighten the 10-mil film.
Compatibility
This drumhead is designed for drums with a 28″ diameter. It is compatible with any standard drum shell of this size, including bass drums and large floor toms, provided they utilize standard tension rod mounting systems.
