Overview
The Gibraltar 9000 Series Neoprene Moto Throne serves as the critical foundation of your drumming setup, prioritizing ergonomic support and long-term comfort. As part of the innovative Airtech series, this throne is engineered to reduce fatigue during extended playing sessions by combining high-performance materials with a rock-solid structural base.
Key Details
- Advanced Neoprene Surface: The seat is covered in a premium layer of neoprene—the same high-durability material used in diving suits—providing a slip-resistant and comfortable interface.
- Memory Foam Core: Beneath the neoprene surface lies a memory foam base that contours to the player’s body, offering a balance of plush cushioning and essential support.
- Moto-Style Ergonomics: Modeled after a bicycle seat, the design provides a “cushy yet supportive” feel that helps maintain proper posture and stability.
- 9000 Series Foundation: Built upon Gibraltar’s renowned 9000 series base, ensuring maximum stability and durability under heavy use.
- Rapid Height Adjustment: Features a height-adjust memory lock utilizing a wing nut, allowing for fast, tool-free adjustments without the need for a traditional drum key.
Use Cases
This throne is ideal for professional touring drummers who require a reliable, heavy-duty seat that can be adjusted quickly between venues. It is equally suited for studio musicians recording long sessions where memory foam support is necessary to prevent lower back strain. Additionally, the neoprene surface makes it a great choice for players who prefer a secure grip to prevent sliding during aggressive performances.
Installation
Setup is straightforward and requires no specialized tools. Simply unfold the 9000 series base and loosen the wing nut to set your desired height. Once the optimal position is reached, tighten the wing nut by hand to lock the memory height in place. The throne is ready for immediate use upon assembly.
Compatibility
This throne is universally compatible with all acoustic and electronic drum kits. Its adjustable height and stable base make it suitable for drummers of all sizes and various kit configurations, including standard kits, cocktail kits, and percussion rigs.

Really impressed with this. Easy to set up and sounds fantastic. The documentation could be a bit clearer but overall very happy.
