- Durable Construction: Built to withstand the impact of consistent hand percussion play while maintaining stable tension.
- Authentic Tone: Engineered by Tycoon to provide the traditional warmth and punch expected from a high-quality conga.
- Lightweight Design: Weighing only 0.58 lbs, it provides a seamless fit without adding unnecessary bulk to the instrument.
Use Cases
- Maintenance & Repair: Ideal for replacing heads that have become stretched, pitted, or torn over time.
- Tone Refresh: Use this replacement head to revitalize a dull-sounding drum and regain crisp attack and resonance.
- Student Instruments: A perfect replacement for junior congas used in educational settings where high-frequency use leads to faster wear.
Installation
Replacing your conga head is a straightforward process. Begin by loosening the tension bolts (lugs) around the rim of your drum until the old head can be removed. Place the new Tycoon 9″ Replacement Head centered over the shell. Gradually tighten the lugs in a cross-pattern (star pattern) to ensure even tension across the surface, preventing warping and ensuring an accurate pitch.
