Description
Overview
The Tycoon 35 Series DOHC Cajon is a professional-grade percussion instrument designed for players who require a broader sonic palette than a standard single-chamber box drum. Featuring a Double Overhead Chamber (DOHC) design, this cajon allows the performer to access two distinct tonal profiles within a single instrument, blending deep resonance with sharp, articulated accents.
Crafted from hand-selected, environmentally-friendly Siam Oak, the body and front plate are engineered for durability and superior projection. Each unit is individually handmade and tested to ensure consistent sound quality and structural integrity, making it an ideal choice for both street performing and studio recording.
Key Details
- Double Overhead Chamber: Utilizes two separate internal chambers and dedicated sound holes to provide a versatile combination of deep, traditional bass and crisp, tight snare slaps.
- Premium Siam Oak Construction: Both the body and the striking plate are constructed from sustainably sourced Siam Oak for a rich, organic tone and long-term reliability.
- Enhanced Stability: Equipped with four heavy-duty rubber feet to prevent slipping and protect the instrument’s base during aggressive playing sessions.
- Artisan Quality: Every instrument is individually handmade and rigorously tested to meet professional sound standards.
Use Cases
- Acoustic Ensembles: Perfect for unplugged sets where a full drum kit is impractical, providing the essential low-end thump and high-end snap needed to drive a rhythm section.
- Solo Performance: The dual-chamber design allows a single player to mimic the dynamics of a bass drum and snare drum simultaneously.
- Street Performing: The rugged Siam Oak build and stable rubber feet make it a durable companion for outdoor busking and mobile gigs.
- Studio Recording: Offers a clean, natural percussion sound that integrates easily into folk, pop, and jazz arrangements.
Installation
The Tycoon 35 Series DOHC Cajon is a ready-to-play instrument and requires no assembly. Simply place the cajon on a flat surface, ensuring the rubber feet are firmly planted, and sit directly on the top surface to begin playing.
Compatibility
This is a standalone acoustic percussion instrument. It is compatible with all standard percussion playing techniques and can be paired with external microphones for amplification or recording.
