The Vater 3/8 Hickory Timbale Sticks are professional-grade percussion tools engineered for precision, durability, and a commanding strike. Crafted from premium American Hickory, these sticks are designed to meet the rigorous demands of timbale players who require a balance of strength and shock absorption to achieve a sharp, penetrating attack.
What Stands Out
Key Details
- Premium American Hickory: Constructed using a blend of Shellbark and Shagbark Hickory, the most popular wood choice for percussion due to its superior durability and natural shock absorption.
- Precision Moisture Control: Vater utilizes dowels with a strict moisture content of 10%-12%, specifically optimized for striking tools to ensure consistent feel and long-term structural integrity.
- Optimized Dimensions: Featuring a 16-inch length and a 0.75-inch width, providing the necessary leverage and weight for traditional timbale performance.
- Sustainable Sourcing: Produced with an environmental commitment where new trees are planted for every hickory tree harvested.
Best For
Use Cases
- Latin Percussion: Ideal for salsa, mambo, and other Latin genres where a crisp, high-velocity strike on timbales is essential.
- Studio Recording: The consistent density of the hickory provides a predictable sonic profile, making them reliable for high-fidelity recording sessions.
- Live Performance: Built to withstand the high-impact nature of live percussion, reducing the frequency of stick breakage during intense sets.
