Description
Overview
The Tycoon Agile Timbales 14″ & 15″ set provides percussionists with a professional-grade pairing of timbales designed for clarity, projection, and durability. Engineered to deliver the sharp, cutting attack required for Latin and Caribbean music, these drums offer a balanced tonal contrast between the 14-inch and 15-inch shells, ensuring a full sonic spectrum for the performer.
Key Details
- Dual Shell Configuration: Includes both 14″ and 15″ diameters to provide the traditional melodic interval essential for authentic timbale playing.
- Agile Series Design: Built for stability and resonance, allowing for high-tension tuning and a bright, piercing tone.
- Professional Hardware: Equipped with robust rims and lugs to maintain tuning stability during intense performances.
- Physical Build: A substantial construction weighing 31.43 lbs, ensuring the drums remain seated and stable during heavy striking.
Use Cases
- Salsa and Latin Jazz: Ideal for providing the driving rhythmic foundation and high-pitched accents characteristic of salsa, mambo, and Latin jazz ensembles.
- Studio Recording: The distinct tonal separation between the two sizes makes them excellent for layered percussion tracks in a studio environment.
- Live Performance: Designed for high-volume stages where a cutting, clear sound is necessary to pierce through a brass section or loud amplification.
Installation
These timbales are designed for standard percussion mounting. They can be integrated into a percussion rack or mounted on dedicated timbale stands. Ensure that the shells are securely fastened to the mounts to prevent shifting during play. Tuning should be performed incrementally to achieve the desired high-tension “crack” typical of the instrument.
Compatibility
Compatible with standard 14″ and 15″ drum heads and universal percussion mounting hardware. Detailed compatibility information regarding specific stand brands is not available from current supplier or official product data.
