Description

Sonic Surge 2 is the second generation of Rave Generation’s flagship dynamics processor. It builds on the original with true 3-band optical compression modeling, three detection modes (Stereo, L/R, M/S), and dual-mode processing (Multiband or Fullband). Featuring modern 24dB/oct Linkwitz-Riley crossovers, per-band drive and tone curves, transient shaping, harmonic drive, mono maker, SC HPF (sidechain high-pass filter), and M/S balance for stereo width control, Sonic Surge 2 combines the warmth of analog optical compressors with modern digital precision. Use it for transparent mastering, punchy mixes, or creative sound design. Controls include Input/Output gain, crossover frequencies, per-band drive, compression (threshold, ratio, attack, release), Detection mode, Dynamic Depth, Harmonic Drive, M/S Balance, Mono Maker, Smart Clip 0dB, Tone Curve Mode (Pre/Post), Listen Mode, and DRY/WET mix. The GUI is fully resizable, supports undo/redo, direct input, and opacity control.
